Troubleshooting
Most problems are one of the five below, and four of them take under a minute.
Try this first. Reload the Marketplace tab with Ctrl+Shift+R (Cmd+Shift+R on a Mac). Extensions don't apply to tabs that were already open when they installed or updated, and this fixes it more often than anything else here.
I can't find the toolbar icon
Chrome hides new extensions by default. Click the puzzle-piece icon at the top right of Chrome, find Curb Check in the list, and click the pin next to it. The icon then stays visible, and clicking it opens your dashboard.
No coloured bars on listings
Work through these in order:
- Hard-refresh the page as above.
- Check you're on
facebook.com/marketplace. Curb Check only runs on Facebook Marketplace — it won't do anything on Craigslist, AutoTrader, or a dealer's website. - Scroll down a little. Bars appear as listings load, so the first screen sometimes lags a moment.
- Go to
chrome://extensionsand check Curb Check is switched on. - Turn it off and on again from that page, then reload Marketplace.
If you're seeing bars on some listings but not others, that's expected — anything outside the forty-six covered models stays grey.
My dashboard is empty
Only green and amber cars save automatically while you scroll. Reds save when you open them, and greys never save — that's deliberate, so the list stays useful.
If you've definitely opened cars and it's still empty, check you're not in an Incognito window. Incognito uses separate storage, so anything captured there disappears when the window closes and never reaches your normal dashboard.
Note too that the dashboard is stored on the computer you were using. It doesn't sync between machines — use Export and Import to move it.
My trial or purchase isn't recognised
Starting a trial sends a confirmation link by email. The trial doesn't activate until you click it, and that email sometimes lands in spam.
If you've confirmed and it still shows locked, open the options page, then reload your Marketplace tab — the extension re-checks your status when the options page opens.
Still stuck after that, or you've paid and it hasn't unlocked, email us. Include the address you used and we'll sort it out the same day.
It identified the wrong car
If a listing shows a verdict for a completely different model, that's a matching error and we want to hear about it. Send the listing title exactly as it appears and what Curb Check called it.
First, check you're on the current version: go to chrome://extensions, find Curb Check, and compare the version number with the one on the Chrome Web Store listing. Chrome usually updates extensions automatically, but you can force it by switching on Developer mode on that page and clicking Update.
None of that worked
Email admin@maxbots.ai. It goes to the person who built it, not a support queue.
Three things make it much faster to fix: what you expected to happen, what happened instead, and the listing URL if it's about a specific car. A screenshot is worth more than all three.
